Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort: A Fresh Start for a South Florida Classic
If you have been waiting for a beach resort that works for the whole family, I have one to put on your radar. On May 1, 2026, the longtime Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida officially became the Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort, after an $80 million transformation.
It is a big property, with 1,000 rooms, but it is set up so everyone in your group can find their own pace.
The setting
The resort sits right on the Atlantic, with about 1,000 linear feet of semi-private beach. Rooms and suites come in two views. Ocean-facing rooms catch the sunrise. Intracoastal-facing rooms get the sunset.
Where to eat
There are six dining venues, so you can go from coffee to a steak dinner without leaving the property. Palmea Kitchen does breakfast. The Press is the quick stop for coffee, juice and pastries. Playa is the beachfront bar and grill. Solara is the all-day lobby lounge, and Diplomat Prime is the steakhouse for date night.
Pool and beach days for families
The Lagoon Pool is the family pool, with room to splash and swim. Next to it is the kids' water play area with slides. Kids' Club is there for crafts, games and beach fun while parents take a breath.
Prefer something quieter? The adults-only Solara pool is for guests 18 and over. There are two pools in all, with cabanas and daybeds available.
Adults can also look at the Verandah Social Club, an adults-only pool and cabana space. It has beach seating, in-cabana spa treatments and a beach-club feel. It is a great fit for a couples' afternoon or a parents' break.
Included at the resort
Beach chairs and umbrellas are part of your stay, and kayaks, paddleboards and bikes are available too, weather permitting.
For a morning reset, there is sunrise beach yoga on the sand. Check the current schedule when you book, since days and times change.
Getting around
The resort is about 9 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and about 22 miles from Miami International. The Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is close by.
Golf fans can play at Hollywood Beach Golf Club, about 10 minutes away.
